Wabash Arts Camp Mural Tour

The Wabash Arts Camp has a self-guided or guided tour of the murals created by the children attending the camp scattered on buildings around town. Each July, area children attend the Wabash Arts Camp and create a variety of art ranging from theatre to historical scenes to memorable local residents from the past. These murals are created and hang throughout the community. Below is a list of the murals and their locations in Shenandoah:

1994 - Train & Depot Mural located on the west side of the Dollar General Store - 719 W. Sheridan Avenue

1995 - Tall Corn Coop, Jay's Fountain, Leacox Dome & Henry Field Building Mural located on the west side of the Dollar
General Store - 719 W. Sheridan Avenue

1997 - Welcome to Sportsman's Park Mural located on the old Bath House at the Pool - Sportsmans Park Road

1998 - Six Themes of Shenandoah Mural located on the west side of the Rabel Building - Blossom & Lowell Street

1999 & 2000 - Day in the Park Mural located on the east side of Elm Heights - 1203 S. Elm Street

2000 - Famous Works of Art Murals located at Get Framed - 911 W. Sheridan Avenue

2001 - Stage & Theatre Mural located on the south side of the Southwest Iowa Theatre - Sportmans Park Road

2002 - Early Scenes of Shenandoah located on the west side of the Shenandoah Historical Museum - 800 W. Sheridan Avenue

2003 - Scenes of Manti located on the west side of the Shenandoah Historical Museum - 800 W. Sheridan Avenue

2004 - Pioneer Radio Broadcasters & Nurseryman - Henry Fields & Earl May - 800 W. Sheridan Avenue

2005 - Elementary School Playground Mural - Shenandoah Elementary School, 601 Dr. Creighton Circle
